We won;t have to worry about copyrights if we only do it for fun, and not for profit and reference correctly, as stated in the fair distributions of information act (or something along that names).

Well, we could cobble something together in gamemaker (would require people downloading it)
Python is relatively easy, but it would require lines and lines and lines of code if you want the game to go on for any decent length of time, and you're not fussed about it only being a text-based game =)
Or it could just be a word game, like group story telling and stuff.
We could rip of Dungeons and Dragons.
Does anyone actually know how to play that?
It could work =P

If we make something with graphics, then we either need to be able to create decent graphics, or know where to get some free which are decent and suit our needs.
We could just go for 32-bit graphics. I could make a chibi 32-bit harry potter X)
Text-based means we don't need to create any graphics.
For those who've never played a text-based game, Zork gives you the general idea, but the puzzles are probably a little advanced for beginners : P Heck, had to use a walkthrough to find my way around, and I still got lost! Hint: enter through the west side of the house, and cyclopses are afraid of Ulysses (Or is it Odysseus?)
So yeah.
That's my contribution =)

Yeah, that would be so cool. And an text based adventure game (maybe with images on top of, coughcoughSyvenneorHelgacough) would be simple enough, given the engine. Of course we'd probably have to save this until after Christmas, what with exams and the Christmas special which you should all be working on and following the thread... Evil or Very Mad

I can do the coding.
Now to figure out what to do it on. We could do just a text based adventure, so just use python or something.
We could use RPG maker. I have that, as well as Helga.
Syvenne has Game Maker, I'm pretty sure.
Or if we want to be really fancy we could use UDK. However that would mean real effort in making a 3D environment and stuff.
